  • Post op Blues

    Well, I'm 10 days post-op from my abdominal hysterectomy.  Let's just say, it has been awful.  But my hubby has been wonderful, my kids have been staying off me, and I have a round-the-clock nursecat.  I was only in the hospital a couple days & since I've been home, this kitty has been watching me 24/7.  She actually gets mad at me when I get up to go potty and starts trying to herd me back to bed by nipping at my legs.  She doesn't like me sitting in the recliner either and will poke and peck and pester me until I go back to bed.  How sweet is that? 

    So, I'm back to bed. Just following nursecat orders!

    I forgot to do the Advent Calendars before Hubby left this morning for a Vancouver work trip. My little congregation took a vote on what to do. There was not consensus, so a lively debate ensued. The statement that won over the hearts & minds of the other two was, "Dadda would want us to continue our family's religious belief in chocolate." Amen, eh?

  • Winter update

    Hi folks,

    • So, the campground in Montana sale fell through. Everything else on my birthparents estate is wrapping up, if I can just get that property sold, that nightmare will be over. Anyone interested in a beautiful 15 acres with a creek on the way to Yellowstone Park from Billings Montana?
    • I'm now an independent representative for Regal Gifts- Canadians can shop my store at Motherhowe.com.
    • I'll be in the hospital for Christmas.... this year I'll be thanking Santa for a hysterectomy. 
    • Kids are growing like crazy & the french immersion is going well.  So I have a Grade 1 kid, Kindergartener and a four year old that can all sass me in French.

  • Mischievous Tooth Fairy


    BANZAI CAT! Here is Vinny trying to dry his bushy squirrel tail.


    My 6 year old lost his first tooth yesterday. A metal capped molar that the dentist had to remove. So the kids were all excited for the tooth fairy to come this morning.

    In the middle of a peaceful midnight bath, into the bathroom charges my 8 month old kittycat Vinny who makes a flying leap right into the bathtub with me. I scream bloody murder as I'm sure I'm about to be disemboweled. As Vinny scrambles his soggy self out, I realize I am unscathed (or rather unscratched) and I start roaring with laughter. He is frantically is bouncing off the walls trying to shake himself dry.

    At the doorway appears my groggy 3 year old who takes my towel and starts chasing Vinny around the house trying to dry him. By the time I get out of the tub, the whole main floor of the house is sprinkled with water and Michael is so wet that I have to change his pajamas. When I finally get 3 year old settled back into bed he says, "Why did Tom's toothfairy throw Vinny in the bathtub?"

    Who knew the Tooth Fairy was such a mischievous thing?!
